December 2017

Dear Ramona Unified Families and Colleagues,

Beginning Monday, December 18 our schools will be closed for winter break through New Year’s Day.  This time is fast approaching, and I wanted to wish each of you a wonderful holiday season.  Through my visits across campuses and classrooms, I am continually amazed by the thoughtful dedication and care that you have for the work we are doing to provide the very best educational experience to all students. Thank you for the many ways in which you have contributed to challenging our status quo and continuing to maximize the success of our students, families and your colleagues.

During this holiday break, it is my hope that you make memories with family and friends as you recharge your batteries and take some well-deserved time away.  This is also an important time to pause and remember to give back to those in need.  The recent fires in our region have caused me, like many of you, to reflect on all that we have to turn our hearts and our thoughts to those individuals, families, and communities who have been impacted.

During our time away there will no doubt be opportunities to for each of us to seek out ways to serve and make the holidays of those impacted a little brighter. Finally, please take a moment to think of those who are serving our country, and cannot be with their families, or those who may be alone during this time.  Remember that the spirit of the season is one of love, generosity, and forgiveness. May we examine our busy schedules and make time for others as we focus our interests more on people than on things.

In keeping with our annual theme, may we Cherish Today, especially through our holiday season, and Challenge Tomorrow as we return safely together in 2018.

All the best,

 Dr. Anne L. Staffieri, Superintendent
