Dear Ramona Unified Students, Staff, Families, and Community,

We are fast approaching our winter break, and a time when I find myself reflecting on where we are in Ramona Unified. It is most rewarding to be an educator, to watch skills take root in our students and confidences build.
As I have spent time visiting classrooms and interacting with staff and students, I am humbled by the care and dedication you have for

the work we are doing. I know that together we are making a difference and it is gratifying to see that our district is getting stronger all the time.  Foundational to all of our schools is an emphasis on our instructional focus, and providing teaching and learning opportunities to stretch the thinking of every student and every educator through relevant, rigorous experiences.
I hope you will take this time to think about the many ways in which you have contributed to the success of our students, families and your colleagues.  I appreciate all that you do to make Ramona Unified School District a great place for learning, growing and working. It’s been a great start to the school year and I look forward to continuing our work in 2017.
Enjoy your families; recharge your batteries and this well-deserved break! Safe travels to those of you taking trips out of the area. For those of you spending your break at home, schedule some time to take in the many wonderful sites that our San Diego area has to offer. Encourage your family to record the activities you plan for the holidays and to spend some time reading. It’s a great way to keep your own learning going.

Have a safe and joyous holiday season and Thank you for making a difference!
