The Student Learning and Support Services Department plays a central role in ensuring that all Ramona Unified students experience high-quality, engaging, and equitable learning every day. We support schools and educators through curriculum development, instructional leadership, academic support programs, educational technology, assessment systems, and professional learning opportunities.
Our work is grounded in Ramona Unified’s Collective Commitment to Accelerate Student Learning, which guides our instructional priorities and shapes how we serve students, families, and staff. These commitments include:
- Purposeful Skill-Based Learning: Lessons are collaboratively designed to align with rigorous grade-level standards and engage students through meaningful, real-world connections.
- Clear Expectations and Outcomes: We clearly communicate learning goals and success criteria. Staff, students, and families use data to monitor progress and inform next steps.
- Differentiation for All Learners: Instruction provides multiple entry points through inclusive practices and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), with a particular focus on English Learners and students with disabilities.
- Visible Student Thinking: Students demonstrate their understanding through collaborative talk, writing, problem solving, and engagement with complex tasks.
- Know Your Impact: We foster positive relationships, model empathy, promote social-emotional growth, and ensure every student feels safe, seen, and supported through inclusive, tiered systems of support.
In addition to supporting foundational instruction, our department also leads initiatives that expand learning opportunities, integrate technology, improve instructional clarity, and build educator capacity. From early literacy to college and career readiness, our team is proud to partner with schools and families to ensure every student reaches their full potential.
